This video is kind of a supercut of great moments those two concerts: Paris in 2006, and Glastonbury in 2008.

In 2006, the Either/Orchestra was in Paris, playing the Banlieue Blues festival opposite Han Bennink with a fantastic group of Ethiopian musicians. Theirs was an incredible set.  Our set was a total blast, featuring Mahmoud Ahmed and Tsedenia Gebre Markos.  The whole concert, plus the narrator’s work on this link and interviews with Mahmoud Ahmed and Russ Gershon came out on a DVD called Ethiogroove.

Our set at the Glastonbury Festival in 2008 was one of the greatest days of my career. Buddy Guy played his set just before ours – we were headlining a Saturday night on the Jazz/World stage, billed as Ethiopiques, which featured the Either/Orchestra with a Mahmoud Ahmed, Getatchew Merkurya, Alemayehu Eshete, and Mulatu Astatke.
